New Year reflection By Christine Yorath

I love the start of a New Year, it’s a time for reflection and a time for planning.

Every year a few friends and I get together and write our hopes and aspirations and intentions for the forthcoming year under various headings and we keep them confidential, seal them in envelopes with lots of Sellotape and lock them away under lock and key for 12 months time. The same evening we open last years script and read out loud what we had written previously and one of the headings is lifestyle and home.

What would you be writing? And what would you be writing under the heading of lifestyle and home for yourself? It could be a simple intention to declutter and become more organised to purchasing your new home in 2019. Or maybe just a change of rental within the same town or even a completely new location? The lovely thing is your aspirations will always be for something better than you have now whether it is just that tidy space that makes your home feel larger or a move to a flat with more outdoor space in case we have another sweltering Summer.

Even living in a rental property with furniture that belongs to a landlord there are some beautiful home accessories around which will help you personalise your living space and if you are planning on being in a long- term renter your landlord may allow some redecoration. (There are some fabulous wallpapers available!)

Images this month are of the before and afters on some of the schemes we have completed in the last year or so and may inspire some sort of change in your home.
